Dollie's Spice
From building a food brand to building a marketing agency.
Before Asantibiz had a name, there was Dollie's Spice.
There was a phone, a few followers, a love for food, and a decision to take content seriously.
On 3 October 2022, Dollie's Spice began its TikTok journey with just 46 followers. Instagram had 63 followers. There was no large audience waiting to be activated. No established media platform. No agency behind it. There was simply the work.
Today, Dollie's Spice is a food media and entertainment brand with an audience of 287,500+ across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat.
But this isn't a story about followers. It is a story about building a brand from scratch, learning how to earn attention, turning attention into influence, and discovering a way of building brands that eventually became Asantibiz.
A creator-led food media and entertainment brand.
Dollie's Spice is a creator-led food media and entertainment brand built around food, culture, discovery, storytelling and everyday experiences.
It is not simply a recipe page. And it is not a spice company. At its heart, Dollie's Spice uses food as a medium for connection.
Sometimes that means discovering Ghanaian food. Sometimes it means exploring food from other African countries. Sometimes it means making cooking easier. Sometimes it simply means creating something that makes people laugh, debate, discover or see food differently.

And at the centre of it is Dollie — the creator whose personality, perspective and authenticity make the brand human.
Before the audience, there was the work.

But follower growth is only one part of the story. Because a follower is a number. Attention is earned. Trust is earned. Influence is earned. And that is what we were really building.
We started by creating content. Then we started paying attention to what people responded to.
We studied the audience. We experimented with ideas. We tested formats. We learned the platforms. We looked at what made people stop scrolling. We studied what made them watch. What made them comment. What made them share. What made them return.
Some ideas worked. Some didn't. Some videos travelled far beyond the audience we had. Some barely moved. We learned. We adapted. We created again.
And slowly, something bigger than a social-media account began to emerge. A brand.
The growth wasn't one lucky moment. It was years of creating, testing, learning, analysing, adapting and creating again.
At Asantibiz, we don't believe a brand is successful simply because it has a large follower count. Followers are a reach metric. The bigger questions are:
Can the brand earn attention?
Can it create content people genuinely want to consume?
Can it build an audience that returns?
Can it create conversation?
Can it build trust?
Can it influence decisions?
Can it create commercial value?
Dollie's Spice gave us the opportunity to test these questions in the real world.
Reach isn't the only proof. The work had to travel.

The learning
These numbers don't mean we simply know how to chase virality. They show that we learned how to create content capable of travelling beyond the audience we had already built.
We didn't just make posts. We built content properties.
FOOD → CULTURE → STORY
A food and cultural discovery series celebrating the diversity of Ghanaian cuisine.
The series uses food to explore dishes, traditions, communities and stories across Ghana. It transforms food from something we simply consume into a way of discovering where we come from.
FOOD → DISCOVERY → CULTURE
A food exploration series created in 2024.
Food Chronicles took audiences on virtual culinary journeys to Uganda and Nigeria, exploring their food and food culture.
It expanded the brand's territory from “What are we cooking?” to “What can food teach us about people and places?”
FOOD → PROBLEM → SOLUTION
People want good food. But they also have work. Children. Responsibilities. And limited time.
Smart Cooking was created around this reality, exploring practical ways to make cooking easier, smarter and more efficient. It turns food content into a solution to an everyday problem.
These brands didn't simply see a social-media page. They saw an audience and a platform they could trust.
Don't just take our word for it. The strongest validation of our work comes from the brands we've had the opportunity to work with.
“Dorothy was a pleasure to work with during our influencer campaign for Sankofa Natural Spices. She understood the brief, protected the authenticity of her audience, and delivered content the brand could stand behind.”

Anyone can make a food video. The question is:
Before Asantibiz became an agency, Dollie's Spice was where the work was being tested.
We weren't learning these things from theory alone. We were testing them in the real world.
And eventually, we realised: the knowledge, systems and skills we were developing could help other businesses build their brands too. That realisation became Asantibiz.
Dollie's Spice didn't just become an Asantibiz project. It birthed Asantibiz.

Asantibiz
The lessons that became our method.
01
You need an audience that actually cares.
02
Posting consistently without knowing why you're posting is not a strategy.
03
The goal is to build sustainable attention and trust.
04
Especially when brands enter the conversation.
05
Recurring series can become recognisable brand assets.
06
The better you understand people, the better you can communicate with them.
07
Advertising shouldn't feel like an interruption.
08
The results audiences see today are built on years of work they didn't see.
Through Asantibiz, we apply the lessons from building Dollie's Spice to businesses that want to become more intentional about their marketing.
Where are you going, and what should your brand own?
What should you say, who should hear it, and why should they care?
How do you attract the right people—not simply more people?
How do you make your brand memorable while moving people toward action?
How should your brand show up across platforms?
How do you turn a marketing objective into a campaign people actually notice?
How can creators and brands work together in ways that feel authentic and commercially valuable?
We don't just tell brands what they should do. We have done the work.
We have tested. Failed. Adapted. Built. Measured. Created. Learned.
And we use those lessons to help other brands build with intention.
From 46 followers to a food media brand.
From content to influence.
From influence to commercial trust.
From one brand to the birth of an agency.
This isn't just a portfolio piece.
THIS IS WHERE ASANTIBIZ BEGAN.
